Kerri & Dan’s Romantic Wedding at the Gadsden House

A great photographer who makes your wedding timeline will save you on your wedding day! Kerri & I came up with their timeline 2 months before their wedding at the Gadsden House and thank goodness, because she & Dan wanted to be relaxed on their big day and we built in a lot of buffer time – because its a wedding day and I knew something was bound to go wrong because it usually does.

So what happened? Dan forgot his shirt! And it threw the whole timeline out the window lol! Kerri & I looked at each other and we shrugged our shoulders and said “No big deal, let’s move other photo things around until he’s back and ready!” I ended up only being able to photograph Kerri & Dan for 15 minutes before they had to hide when we originally had 60 minutes…but we made up that time later on at sunset (-;

What is the most important thing to you for the wedding day?
Being relaxed enough to enjoy it!

What was it about the Gadsden House that made you fall in love with it?
It was historic; perfect size for our wedding, the whole venue is ours for the day; we could do both parts at the same place but still separate them

Why did you choose to get married in Charleston?
We weren’t sure where we would be living around the time we were getting married and I (Kerri) have family in Charleston and feel like it is a second home

How did you feel the morning of your wedding?
Ready to go!

What was your favorite detail of the day?
Wearing my mother in law’s veil that she, herself, had worn 40yrs earlier or my grandmother’s necklace (she passed away when I was in the first grade). I can’t pick between them.

Did anything out of the ordinary/funny/crazy happen on the wedding day?
Dan forgetting his shirt! And the answers to the 3 questions portion of the ceremony was fun!

1st Look & Portraits

What was the most special moment of the day for you?
The moment we first saw each other all dressed up

If you did a First Look, talk about it here! What made it special, how were you both feeling before & after it, would you recommend it to a friend, etc
It was really nice to do a first look; seeing each other and doing the pictures before the ceremony put us at ease and took a lot of the stress out of things. It was nice to have a quiet moment the 2 of us beforehand. Lastly, it made us even more excited to get married

What made your wedding day special, unique or personalized to you as a couple?
Having an intimate wedding was very special to us. The ceremony was personalized for us; we chose the ceremony wording and combined from 2 different options presented to us by our officiant. The 3 questions portion of the ceremony was also something that we and our guests hadn’t seen before.
