Autumn Halloween Wedding Inspiration with Pops of Orange, Yellow and Gray
This month Im sharing 3 different Halloween Wedding Inspiration posts – because Spooky Season is the BEST season!
ROMANTIC VICTORIAN HALLOWEEN WEDDING INSPIRATION
DARK & MOODY HALLOWEEN WEDDING INSPIRATION
For this post, I wanted to show off an Autumn inspired Halloween wedding idea with pops of orange, yellow & dove gray as the palette, a home built in the 1700’s in Charleston, SC as the venue and a gorgeous lace wedding dress with cap sleeves for a really romantic look.
This post is also filled with alternative color ideas, venues & movie inspiration to help you visualize the autumn Halloween wedding of your dreams!
How to Pick Your Venue
- Pick an old house (or European castle) as your venue but make sure it has lots of windows for a brighter, airier vibe. A garden or glass conservatory works well too.
- Since we want a more “old world” vibe, the more original character in the venue, the better! Look for large windows full of wavy glass & beveling, old furniture, giant chandeliers, and elaborate staircases.
- Real Venue Inspo: The Biltmore, Vizcaya, Rosecliff Mansion, Central Park Boathouse, Cheekwood Gardens, Governor Thomas Bennett House, Adare Manor, Denver Botantic Garden
Your Outfits
- If you’re wearing a dress: Wear a lace wedding dress with fun details like layers, a high neck or sleeves. It feels more romantic & old world. Think of Victorian England or the Gilded Age. A Juliet Cap veil would be stunning too!
- But if you’re like me and need a color wedding dress look for blush pink, mauve, or yellow!
- If you’re wearing a suit: A classic form fitting tux or even one with coat tails would work. But for those of you who want something different, look into colored suits like burgundy, rust, emerald green, deep navy, and even eggplant purple. Don’t rule out patterns like plaid suit or textures like a velvet jacket!
- For the Wedding party: silk or velvet dresses in a warm tone and form fitting suits that are NOT black. Again, you can play with plaids or velvet jackets for them too

Colors & Design
- While we want something on the brighter & airier side in terms of feeling, don’t be afraid of using orange in your palette! Pair it with dove gray instead of black for a more luxurious Halloween twist.
- Other old world autumn colors you can use are mustard yellow, blush, copper/gold, burgundy, emerald, navy, eggplant/plum, burnt orange, and rust
- For the overall design you can use candles, pumpkins (light orange & white), old books, colored crystal goblets, lanterns, gold framed mirrors, real fruit (apples, pears, pomegranates), wood chairs & tables, fallen leaves (for a petal toss and escort cards with calligraphy), vintage couches, textured plates, gold plated or antique silverware
- I count food as design! You’ll want to serve warm, homey meals and serve a sort of cider. For dessert, think about doing pies or pie pops. Also anything that includes chocolate, pecans, apples, spices and caramel
Movie & TV & Other Inspiration
- Type in keywords like “light academia”, Vintage Halloween, Victorian Halloween, Autumn Wedding Inspiration, Colorful Autumn Wedding, & Historic wedding venues
- To watch: Pride & Prejudice, Little Women (any version), Crimson Peak, Victoria & Albert, Downton Abbey, Tuck Everlasting, Dickenson, The Beguiled, Outlander
