Nicole & Max’s Vinoy Wedding Photos | St Petersburg FL
Nicole & Max’s Vinoy wedding photos will forever have a special place in my heart because this stunning bride is my “baby” cousin!!! How is she old enough to be married?! This cant be real life. And yet, here we are. She found her prince charming back in 2005 in middle school – yes, Nicole and Max have been together for 11 years! – and they are quite the travel bugs. They visited Ireland together a few years before I got to make it that way, they got engaged in Paris, came to Charleston for their engagement photos, and as Im writing this blog post, they are sunning on the beaches of Kauai.
The Vinoy Renaissance Hotel was built in 1925 and over looks the harbor in St Petersburg FL. It was one of very few Florida hotels I actually really wanted to shoot a wedding at because its a national historic landmark…and its pink (-; The Vinoy was a seasonal hotel, open only from December to March and had the highest rates in the area at the time: a whopping $20. During World War II the hotel was taken over by the U.S. Army and used for a training school. It was abandoned for many years but thankfully it was lovingly restored in the 1990’s to the gem that we have today!
Nicole and Max fell in love with the tea garden which is where they had their ceremony. Nicole’s bridal suite even overlooked the area so she could peek out the window and watch all of her guests arriving! They had a lot of really great personalized details – Nicole wore her grandmothers ring, borrowed a vintage box to hold some of her details, pinned her sorority keys to her bouquet…oh speaking of her bouquet, she had lilies put in it to honor our grandmother who had lilies in her own wedding bouquet! She also had an Irish five pence (instead of an English six pence like in the rhyme). Max wore Florida Seminole socks (they went to Florida State) and he had an Irish lace kerchief in his pocket.
Congratulations Nicole & Max!! So excited I get to see y’all grow together and do amazing things!
