Ellis & Steven’s Navy + Gold William Aiken House Wedding
“Planning a wedding can be stressful! But when our planner narrowed down options for a photographer it was a no-brainer that we wanted Catherine Ann Photography! We loved the aesthetic of the website and the gorgeous natural light pictures full of color from the galleries. From that point on, she just led the way and was incredible from start to finish. My husband and I met Katie first during our engagement shoot, and felt at ease right away! She made us feel so comfortable and confident which is just how you want to be feeling during your big day! We had a wedding in July and of course were nervous about the heat. Katie and Jay turned those nerves around when we saw them! They still captured every perfect moment throughout the day and made everyone look their best. We cannot stop looking through all of our pictures from our special day and are so fortunate to have had Katie and Jay capturing the moments we will cherish forever! We are forever grateful for all of their hard work!” – Ellis

I had been waiting for Ellis & Steven’s wedding day since I photographed their engagement session! These two are such a joyful couple and are so fun to be around! Their ceremony took place at St Mary’s Catholic Church and everything else was at the William Aiken House. They fell in love with the William Aiken House because of the downtown location right on King St., the indoor and outdoor elements, the yellow color of the house, and having a venue with such a rich history in Charleston.
They decided to share a first look on the second floor landing inside the house before heading outside to take a few photos with their dog, Chatham! I was so glad they were able to get a few portraits with their pup. We flitted inside and outside for pictures, since they loved both areas of the house, before they headed off to St Marys for the ceremony. We stayed behind to photograph the gorgeous navy, gold, and striped details that A Caldwell Events put together. I loved their escort cards and the lounge area on the dance floor for when guests needed to rest their feet from dancing! At the end of the night, the bride changed into a shorter dress and the newly weds exited under a tunnel of sparklers before picking up a cool treat from King of Pops!
Congrats Ellis & Steven!
