Stephanie & Michael’s Classic Wedding at the Legare Waring House
If you love flowers then you’ll love this wedding at the Legare Waring House because the floral design was straight out of a fairytale! Stephanie & Michael knew that they wanted to have a destination wedding and felt like Charleston would be the perfect place because they have always loved vacationing here. They really wanted their guests to experience the history, food & scenery and discover why Stephanie & Michael love Charleston so much!
Getting Ready
Both of them got ready at the Legare Waring House – one of the many reasons we love this venue is because the groom gets his own spacious suite on the opposite side of the house (-;
Stephanie gave her mom & bridesmaids letters to read when they were all still in their floral pj’s before she stepped into her dress. She shared a first look with her dad AND her bridesmaids before heading outside to see Michael for the first time!
Ceremony
Their ceremony actually took place at Summerall Chapel since Stephanie’s father, uncles & brother are all alumni of the Citadel.
Portraits
After the ceremony we all headed back to Legare Waring for the wedding party + family photos (because oak trees & spanish moss are a must!) before wrapping up with the couple at the historic gate. After that, Stephanie & Michael were released into cocktail hour!
The Party
A floral explosion occurred during the reception and I for one am here for it! The head table had raised flowers which was perfect because the wedding party & bride and groom could still see and talk to each other through them. The fountain was also decked out in flowers from top to bottom.
While the rest of the tables had more subdued florals, I think that was a really good design choice. The head table SHOULD be over the top & stand out from the crowd!
Photos are very important to the couple so I love how they displayed photos of their parents, grandparents, and great-grandparents from their wedding days!
After they cut the cake the dance floor officially opened and the guests wasted no time getting on the dance floor!
