What is now known as the Legare Waring House became a part of the Legare family in the 1870’s, located in Charles Towne Landing which was the site of South Carolina’s first permanent settlement!
The house fell into serious disrepair but was saved by the Legare’s grand-daughter and her husband Dr. Waring in the 1940’s.

At the Legare Waring House!
There are two dedicated and separate spaces in the house for everyone to get ready with their wedding party.
The Legare Waring House has 3 gorgeous areas for your ceremony: the avenue of oaks, the wedding oak, and the secret garden!
Per their website, your wedding ceremony cannot begin until the park is closed to the public.
November through March your ceremony may begin at 5 p.m. April through October your ceremony may begin at 6 p.m.
This restriction can have a negative impact on your portraits, please have a conversation with your wedding photographer well in advanced to come up with a plan that works best for you & your vision.
The oyster tabby patio directly in front of the house is gorgeous for an outdoor reception with cocktail hour by the pond!
You could also host your reception under the avenue of oaks.
We highly recommend adding additional lighting like cafe lights, uplighting, and chandeliers because they really make a huge difference once the sunsets.
Definitely do all of your pictures at The Legare Waring House! There are so many beautiful photo spots.
HOWEVER..if you choose to NOT do a First Look, your guests will be in the background of all of your photos and will probably try to come chat with you while you're take them. Please keep that in mind.
For suuuuure those ancient oak trees dripping with spanish moss - is there anything more magical?!
