Whimsical Best Friends Trip to Disneyland

You ever get a girls trip out of the group chat? Its europhic feeling.

As former annual passholders (almost cried typing that to be honest), my best friend Alyssa and I are huge Disney fans but we’ve only ever visited Disney World together – though we’d each been to Disneyland separately many times too. We’ve had countless chats while lounging on the Hub Grass and drinking our Starbucks about going to Disneyland together one day and we finally made it happen for her 30th birthday at the end of June!

Our goal for Disneyland was to eat fun food, ride the rides that we don’t have at Disney World (to be fair, that’s a lot of them because even the classic rides we share are vastly different and longer at Disneyland) and really soak in those Character interactions because they have so much more freedom at Disneyland.

Fashioning Magic: Our Colorful Disneyland Wardrobe

Disneyland isn’t just a theme park; it’s a runway for magic! On day one of our adventure, Alyssa and I picked out colorful, whimsical tulle dresses to wear that transported us to a fairytale world. The highlight of my day though? The Evil Queen herself roasted me as she strolled by—an unexpected and hilarious magical moment.

Day two had us wearing more casual yet equally fun ensembles, with Alyssa in a comfy Cinderella blue romper and me sporting my signature rainbow tee, bubblegum pink skirt, and custom Tangled ears.

One of my favorite photos of Alyssa & I together was taken in 2018 at Disney World where Im hiding behind a Mickey pretzel and she’s drinking a pink drink – but we wanted an updated version, so we recreated it at Disneyland in front of the Mad Tea Party ride!

Creating Magic: Characters Loved Our Outfits

Disneyland characters have an extra sprinkle of magic, with more freedom to engage with Guests. Flynn Rider did a double take when he saw my custom Tangled ears and his excitement about them gave me some (iPhone) images that I treasure, proving that creating your own magical moments is just as important as the attractions themselves.

FAQs: Your Best Friends’ Guide to Disneyland Fashion Fun

What should we wear for a Best Friends Trip to Disneyland?
Embrace the vibes of Disneyland by incorporating whimsy and color! Tulle dresses, rompers, and unique accessories add a touch of magic to your wardrobe. Both days I wore pink statement earrings of the Castle Alyssa had gifted me from a different trip to the Park.

Are Disneyland and Disney World really that different?
Yes! From ride experiences to character interactions, each park has its own charm. Expect surprises even if you’re a Disney World pro.

How can we make the most of character interactions at Disneyland?
Dressing uniquely catches characters’ eyes. Find unique Disney-related accessories like statement necklaces/earrings, or custom Ears to wear or take it a step further and Disneybound! So many people dress normally on their park visits that when you stand out, its a delightful surprise for the cast members too! The barista at Starbucks on Main Street also loved my ears so much (shes also a Tangled superfan) that she surprised me by overtly decorating my coffee cup!
