Danielle & Jimmy are such a sweet couple! They picked us up at the airport at 11:00 at night 2 days before their wedding (and while the Stanley Cup Final was on! Dont worry, Jay & Jimmy put it on the radio and they were both so engrossed in it haha) and we hung out with them at Danielle’s parents house where we spent the weekend! Danielle is the sister in law of my “little brother” so I already knew her & her parents from his wedding 2 years ago but it was so lovely to see her and Jimmy interact with each other.

Danielle got ready at her parents house the morning of the wedding and was helped into her dress by her two sisters and her mom. The ceremony took place at Jimmy’s old school and had a STUNNING view of the Hudson River. It was a really bright and sunny day but the couple really wanted the family photos with the cross & Hudson as the backdrop and honestly, who could blame them?! The reception was at Hollowbrook Golf Club which fit in perfectly with the couples rustic chic vibe – the interior reminded me of a very classy barn.

We had so much portrait time too! Like, 2 hours. It was a dream! Danielle & Jimmy knew that the portraits and spending as much time as possible with their guests were the most important things and we were able to wrap up their portraits as cocktail hour started so they got to spend the entire cocktail hour with their guests AND they got a TON of pictures together! Win-Win.

How did you feel the morning of your wedding?

Danielle-I couldn’t sleep the night before. I think I got a total of 3 hours of sleep. I was so excited but anxious at the same time. (Good thing Lacey the makeup artist is amazing and covered up the bags under my eyes!) I couldn’t wait to marry Jimmy but I hate when all the attention is on me so walking down the aisle was why I was anxious.

Jimmy- I was very excited and woke up early . The morning flew by and before I knew it was time to go.

What was the most memorable moment of the wedding day?

Danielle -The moment I started walking down the aisle. All of my anxiety disappeared when I saw jimmy and his big smile.

Jimmy- seeing Danielle walk down the aisle to me. She looked so beautiful I started to tear.

What was your favorite detail of the day?

Danielle – I loved the flowers and lanterns. Everything looked amazing. My most favorite detail was the red pick up truck!

What did you splurge on & what did you save on?

We did a lot ourselves so that helped us save money. We splurged on the red pick up truck! But it was SO worth it!

What made your wedding day special, unique or personalized to you as a couple?

We planned our wedding ourselves so every little touch at the wedding was thought out by us. We had our vision and Hollow Brook, Rubrums, Spencer from Turntable Events, Katie and John :) and SBZ Events did a really good job of making it all happen. Our wedding day was perfect and we wouldn’t change a thing.

Whats the best advice you have for future couples planning their big day?

Start saving right away! It’s crazy how much money you can save when you put your mind to it! It’s never to early to start planning! Start planning early on. We started planning right when we got engaged. It seems crazy but it really helped. We got the big vendors booked and bought the little things as time went on. I didn’t get stressed and you’re not spending all of your money at once.

Is there anything you would change or do differently?

Not one thing. It was PERFECT!
