Charleston’s Top Spring Wedding Venues
Spring is the BEST time of year to get married in Charleston, SC! And maybe I’m a little biased because we got married in spring here but can you blame us? Its pretty damn magical with all the colorful azaleas in bloom!
Not to mention it’s not too hot and it’s not too cold (usually) and yeah, it can rain but where doesn’t it rain in the spring time? Spring in Charleston is March-May.
We’ve been shooting weddings in Charleston since 2014 so heres a list of what we think are the top spring wedding venues in town!
1. Middleton Place
Sheep grazing on the lawn, azalea’s in bloom, sunsets on the Ashley River, light filtering in from the giant oak trees dotting the property…yeah Middleton Place in Spring is pretty damn magical. It certainly charmed us enough to want to get married here!
2. Magnolia Plantation
Middleton’s next door neighbor, but trade the grazing sheep for Kevin the peacock! Magnolia is famous for its historic white bridge and has a cute little maze and an avenue of oaks that are stunning when the azalea’s are poppin’ off.
3. Legare Waring House
It’s like throwing a soiree in your grandma’s backyard! You can even alligator watch during cocktail hour
4. The Mills House Hotel
Located in the heart of the historic district, this iconic pink hotel is P-E-R-F-E-C-T for your spring wedding!
5. The Gibbes Museum of Art
This is another great indoor / outdoor option and smack in the middle of Charleston’s historic district, and next door to the Mills House. You can get married inside the museum, have your cocktail hour and reception in the garden and take all of your wedding portraits across the street on a cobblestone road
