Jessica & Peter’s Destination Wedding in Tamarindo Costa Rica
Jessica & Peter got married in Playa Tamarindo, Costa Rica at Casa Bali, a gorgeous private home, that overlooked the Pacific Ocean and Playa Grande. The backdrop was so important to the couple that they opted to not put a tent up for the ceremony even though there was rain on the radar! Peter even stuck a knife in the ground at the ceremony site, which is a Costa Rican tradition to keep rain away (kinda like burying the bourbon here in the South). Peter lived in Costa Rica on and off for a few years and they have a lot of memories in Costa Rica together.
Getting Ready
The couple both got ready at the house with their wedding party. Jessica and her girls popped a bottle of champagne on one of the many balconies and shared the drink before Jessica stepped into her gorgeous lace, tulle and sequin Essense of Australia gown. The bridesmaids wore lovely light teal Jenny Yoo gowns that worked so well with their colorful bouquets.
The Ceremony Overlooking the Ocean
Jessica was walked down the aisle by her mom Beth and the ceremony was presided over by both Peter’s sister Katie and his uncle Peter (his namesake). It had been a beautiful day with perfect weather but of course, once the ceremony ended and the marriage license was signed and it was time for all of the portraits…it started to rain!
Luckily Jessica & Peter are very go with the flow and they said they were happy to chill out in the house with their friends and family to wait out the storm! As soon as I saw that it wasnt pouring anymore we went back outside where we saw a gorgeous rainbow over the house! We then headed down to the reception at Pangas and took a few more portraits on the beach (but literally as soon as I started taking photos it began raining hard again).

Pangas Wedding Reception
The reception was held at Pangas, a beach side restaurant, under a clear tent on the sand. The main course was cooked on actual hot stones and was so delicious! The couple chose to set up a clear top tent because there are monkeys that live in the trees…and poop a lot! They wanted their guests to be safe but also be able to look up at the beautiful night sky.
