Kirsten & Brooks’s Pastel Garden Wedding at the Cedar Room
Getting Ready
How did you feel the morning of your wedding?
To be honest, we both felt completely normal. We were obviously very excited all day, but the nerves didn’t really kick in until about 30 minutes prior to walking down the aisle.
What was the most special moment of the day for you?
Easy: seeing each other for the first time in the church while I was walking down the aisle
What was your favorite detail of the day?
Kirsten: Getting into my dress for the first time!
Brooks: The party bus

French Huguenot Ceremony
The French Huguenot church wasnt Kirsten & Brooks’ first venue choice – they were originally supposed to get married at St Luke’s Chapel on the MUSC campus because thats where they went to school. Unfortunately, St Lukes was still restricting capacity when they got married and it wouldnt have held even half of their guest count. But FHC is definitely an AMAZING Plan B spot! Its actually my favorite church to shoot at!
What was something quirky or crazy that happened on the wedding day?
My Matron of Honor accidentally stepped on the end of my veil as Brooks and I were leaving the church for the first time as a married couple.
If you didn’t do a First Look & kept it traditional, how did you both feel seeing each other for the first time, what do you remember thinking in that moment, etc.
Brooks: “Holy cow, she’s beautiful. I get to marry that?! How did I get so lucky?”
Kirsten: “Oh my gosh, there he is. This is happening. Don’t cry, don’t cry.”

What did you splurge on & what did you save on?
We definitely splurged on the honeymoon and the band. We wanted everyone to have an awesome time and the band is the best way to do that. I can’t think of anything in particular we really tried to cut back on to save some money, we were pretty spot on with the budget!
What made your wedding day special, unique or personalized to you as a couple?
Given the circumstances of COVID times, the most special thing was just being able to have the wedding we actually wanted on the day we originally planned with most of our friends and family there.
