Oh man, Ive been waiting very impatiently for Donna & Rob’s film scans to come back from their Long Island City engagement photos! The first time we met these two was on a hot summer day back in August at a coffee shop in Central Park where a bird pooped on Rob’s shirt – which is supposed to be good luck! Thankfully though, there was no poo involved at their engagement session (-;
Donna & Rob live in Long Island City so they wanted their engagement pictures to be done there in one of their favorite neighborhoods with historic brownstones and at Grantry Plaza State Park which had incredible views of NYC! They loved that the view included the Empire State Building which is where they first met when they both worked there and the park was also the place where Rob proposed.
I asked Donna how Rob popped the question:
“Rob planned a date night and I didn’t think much about it so I went to the restaurant he told me he made reservations. While I was waiting at the restaurant, he called me up and asked to take a walk to Gantry Park since it was a nice day out in March. It was a bit out of the ordinary, but again I had no clue until I met up with him and felt his heart beating a millions mile per hour. While we were watching the sunset and chatting for a little bit, he got down on one knee and I was completely surprised! His sister caught a great shot of the proposal – which he planned to have the Empire State Building in the back (where we met). It was PERFECT. We enjoyed a moment to ourselves and I called my family to let them know before we headed to a local beer garden to meet up with his family and some of our closest friends.”
