Since Jay & I live with our cameras attached to our hands (we just can’t help it), we snapped some lifestyle family photos while hanging out at Disney and really leaned into that colorful, playful, slightly magical energy. Meet the Broadway Husbands
I’ve known Bret and Stephen for years, we met while we were all living in South Carolina, but we haven’t seen each other since the day before the world shut down in 2020 and they moved to Texas right after that. But now we only live an hour apart in Florida! Photographing them with their son felt like getting a front-row seat to something really special. They’re warm and silly and totally in sync with each other. No one was trying to be perfect. They just were — and that makes all the difference in family photos!

Okay, I know what you’re thinking: “Florida? In full humidity? For photos?” But hear me out—if you time it right (think golden hour or early morning before the heat hits), it’s actually not so bad! The light’s soft, the colors pop, and if you’re with the right photographer (meee), the whole thing feels low-stakes and breezy!
We picked a time when the light was doing that warm, glowy thing it does best. And instead of forcing smiles or stiff poses, we kept it real: walking, laughing, letting moments unfold naturally. Honestly, it was less about the perfect shot and more about the feeling of the moment. That’s always the goal!
