FAQ

Some things to consider for your Charleston wedding!

I.

Consider the season

End of June-Late September is hot & humid and May-October is hurricane season in the South.

Read about how to plan your wedding during hurricane season here

March-June and September-December are peak wedding seasons here in Charleston and Saturdays disappear quickly for every vendor & venue.

The time of year you choose to get married will also play a role in your wedding outfits and if you want an indoor or outdoor event, if you'll need a tent or rent any heaters. Maybe your wedding favors will be sweet grass hand fans to keep guests cool or warm pashmina scarves for chilly days.

Also you need to be considering the sunset times for each part of the year! Winter has very early sunset times (between 5-6pm), so if portraits are important to you, talk with your photographer before you set in stone a ceremony time.

Holidays, graduations & marathons will always have more traffic in town so hotels might be booked up faster than you think.

II.

Pick your top 3 important vendors - and book them asap!

Charleston is a VERY popular wedding destination and vendors get booked up quickly.

Sit down together and decide on your Top 3 Most Important Vendors and make sure you book them ASAP before someone else does.

III.

One location or two for your wedding

Really think about the logistics of having your wedding entirely at one location vs two.

Your guests are most likely from out of town too - how many times will they need to call an uber or find a place to park? Or will you be providing a bus or shuttle to transport everyone?

First Look or Not

Are you on the fence about doing a First Look?

Read here about the benefits a First Look can have on not only your wedding photos but the overall experience you'll have on your wedding day!

Just remember - if you choose to skip doing the First Look & all formal photos before the ceremony you will miss mingling with your guests at cocktail hour
