8 Ways to Use Your Engagement Photos

what to do with your engagement photos

What to do With Your Engagement Photos

Doing an engagement session with your photographer is a great way to get more comfortable with their shooting style and in front of the camera before the wedding day! But what can you actually do with your engagement photos? Fear not, for I am here to tell you a few things you can do with those pretty pretty pictures (-;

1. Print them out & display them

Printed out photos hold more emotional value than those left on a hard drive. You don’t have to print every single photo out, but at least your favorite one deserves to be shown off! 8×10 or bigger really makes a statement. We have our engagement photos stored in a glass box that we keep propped up in our living room – it acts like a photo frame and I can easily change out the photo on top when I want a fresh one!

2. Social Media

See, I’m not against digitals (-;  The point of social media is to be social and so people can keep up with your life. I’d say engagement photos are pretty worthy of being shared on the ‘Gram.

3. Save the Date Cards

This is probably the #1 use I see for engagement photos but I aint mad about it! Your wedding guests will love getting a card in the mail with your actual faces on it. These are best sent out 6 months before the wedding day.

4. Wedding Website

Uploading your engagement photos to your wedding website is a great way for all of your guests to see them! You can upload a few of the actual photos or include the gallery link so your family can see all of them. Trust me when I say they WANT to see them!

5. Gifts for family (mothers day, fathers day, just because)

Parents & grandparents LOVEEEEEE getting prints as Cool Gifts. I’ve been doing wedding photography for over 12 years…trust me. They adore any sort of print gift for the holidays.

6. Wedding Decor

Using your engagement photos at your wedding is always a fun idea! I’ve seen them displayed in frames at the gift table, used at tables alongside table names or numbers, and displayed alongside other family members photos for a “family tree” type of display.

7. Guest Book

If you don’t want to use the photos as decor you can always use them as a guestbook for people to sign! We can easily design & order one for you if you’re interested in this option.

8. Holiday Cards

The average engagement length is 1-1.5 years so you’re more than likely going to go through one holiday season as an engaged couple! If you get engagement photos done, this is a really easy way to personalize your holiday cards.
